Aerobic wastewater systems use mechanical aeration, clarification and a form of disinfection to biologically and chemically treat wastewater enabling the treated effluent to be returned back to dedicated irrigation area. 

SA Health requires your aerobic wastewater system to be inspected and serviced on a regular basis. This is to protect the health of the residents, neighbours and general community. It is also designed to protect water resources and other local drinking water sources, including wells, from contamination.
